Q. How do I track my shipment?

A. At this time, we only offer tracking on our hardcover photo books and express shipping options to the US and Canada. Once your order is shipped Impressed will send you a tracking number via email so you can track your shipment(s).

Q. My shipment was returned to sender. What do I do?

A. It’s very likely we will contact you first, but just email us at contact@impressedapp.com. Note that we are not responsible for errors in address entry, so you will be required to pay for the cost of the re-shipment if the address was entered incorrectly. Please check your shipping address carefully.

Photo Books - Creating and Editing

Q. What kind of photo books do you offer?

A. We offer both softcover and hardcover options. Our books: 5x5” photo softcover, 6x8” photo hardcover, 8x8” photo hardcover, 8x8” linen hardcover. Our 8x8” books also come in a lay flat option.

Q. How do I add photos?

A. Simply tap on the photo you want to appear in the book and it will be added to the first empty slot on the page you are looking at. Note that the photo is marked so that you know which photos you have used already. You can also tap the location in the book that you would like to place the photo and then select the photo from your photo source.

Q. How do I remove photos?

A. Simply tap on the photo in the book and then tap the word ‘REMOVE’ located in the bar just below the book.

Q. How do I edit a photo in a book?

A. There are 2 ways: (1) tap on the photo in the book, then tap the word ‘EDIT’ located in the bar just below the book to open the edit window
(2) double tap the photo you want to edit to open the edit window
You can then pinch to zoom and tap to pan the photo until it looks perfect.

Q. How do I get the biggest view of the photos in my book?

A. Swipe down on your book in Edit mode to increase its size or tap the word ‘BIGGER’ located in the bar below the book. Swipe up to make it smaller. You can also double tap on your photo to see it enlarged in the Edit screen.

Q. How do I get photos from my PC / Mac to my iPhone?

A. Your options are:

  1. Sync your photos to your device as Apple suggests or via Photo Stream.
  2. Use Photo Stream, built into your iPhone and iPhoto (if you have a Mac).
  3. Get your photos from the networks that Impressed supports (such as Facebook, Dropbox, Instagram, etc.) by simply creating a new photo book in Impressed and selecting the source you want to use.

Q. Why am I not able to edit my photo book?

A. Once a photo book is printed or shared, you can no longer modify that particular book. If you want to modify it in any way, you must open the book, and tap the Edit icon in the top bar to create a copy. An exact, editable copy of your photo book will open in Edit mode for you to make changes. You can find both the original and new copies of the book in MY PROJECTS.

Q. Can I change and add page spreads in a book?

A. Each book type comes with a default layout designed by Impressed. To adjust your page layouts you can tap the word ‘LAYOUT’ located in the bar below the book and choose your desired look. You can also add additional page spreads to your book at the end of the book for an additional cost. Note: The 5x5” softcover book is a fixed number of pages so you cannot add pages.

Q. How do I preview my book?

A. You can go back and forth between the Choose Photos screen and the Preview screen by tapping forwards and backwards on the arrow in the top bar. In the Preview mode, on most devices, you can turn your phone horizontal to experience a page-flipping experience.

Q. How do I edit text?

A. This works the same as editing a photo. Either double tap on the text or tap once and then tap the word ‘EDIT’ just below the book.

Q. Can I move pages?

A. Yes! If you want to move a page spread, if you are on the Choose Photos screen, tap the Next button to enter Preview mode. Tap and hold the page you want to move, then tap the arrows to move the pages up or down. Tap anywhere on the screen to exit “Move” mode.

Q. Can I delete pages?

A. Yes, you can delete page spreads, not individual pages. But only if you have added page spreads to the book and there are now more than the minimum number for that book type. In the Preview screen, swipe left on the page spread to reveal the delete feature. If you add a page spread and delete it later, you will not be charged. You are only charged for the page spreads that exceed the number of pages that are included in that book type. (5x5 - 40 pages, 6x8 - 20 pages, 8x8 - 30 pages)

Prints - Creating and Editing

Q. How do I add photos?

A. On the Choose Photos screen, simply tap on the photo you want to appear in your set of prints from your desired photo source. Photos will be added to the first empty photo slot. Note that the photo is marked so that you know which photos you have used already. You may also replace a photo by tapping on the photo you have already added to a set and then tapping the photo you would like to replace it with.

Q. Can I print duplicates?

A. Yes! Tap on the photo you want as many times as you want it appear and the photo will be added to your set accordingly.

Q. How do I remove photos?

A. Tap on the photo you want to remove in your set, then tap the word ‘REMOVE’ located in the bar just below.

Q. Can I edit photos?

Ordering

Q. How do I submit an order?

A. Once you have made your photo products, tap the Print Shopping Cart icon in the top right of the screen to add it to your cart. You must be in the Preview screen to do this when making a book. You may also add books to your shopping cart from MY PROJECTS.

Q. My order failed to upload. What do I do?

A. When you print a large order, there is a chance there could be an interruption in your Internet service. If this happens, a message will tell you that your photo book failed to upload. You can select ‘Retry’ to continue the upload. If the problem persists, please contact the Support Team.

Q. The order button is greyed out and I cannot print.

A. Photo books must have at least a cover photo (except for Linen books) and one photo inside in order to add them to your cart. Prints must be printed in the number specified in the set - if you have less, consider printing multiple copies of the same photos to give away!

Q. What are those white triangular icons on my photos?

A. You may see Print Warning icons as you add photos to your chosen product. Impressed looks for issues with photos that may lead to sub-optimum prints, such as empty pages, pictures that are zoomed in too much, poor resolution, etc. If you tap the Print Warning, you will see the issues and if you fix them, they will disappear. Note that Impressed will not stop you from printing with issues, so be sure you are happy with the preview and heed the warnings.

General

Q. Prints, books, and print quality

A. Impressed uses the highest quality print and photo book printer on the market. That being said, when you print photos, they never look the same as they do on a screen. Screens make photos pop with vibrancy, colour and light (there is a light source behind them after all) compared to looking at the same printed photo side-by-side. There are many other factors that cause prints to not look identical to their electronic counterparts (colour profiles, different media, etc.), and we do everything we can to try to match them, but they will inevitably be different.

Q. How do I ensure optimal print quality for my photos?

A. The Impressed App will try to help you when it can (i.e., it will warn you if it detects over-zoomed photos or missing photos in a photo book). However, we cannot detect grainy photos, typos, and other photo anomalies (including ignoring the warning), therefore it is important to double and triple check your order before you place it. Although we will try to help you get the best print result in our QA process, Impressed is not responsible for the quality of the source image and typos.

Q. What can I save in MY PROJECTS?

A. At this time, only Photo Book projects are auto-saved in the My Projects section, once you start and make any edits to a book.

Q. What photo sources does Impressed support?

A. You can choose photos from your mobile device (iPhone/iPad), Facebook, Dropbox, or Instagram.

Sharing

Q. Can I share photo products other than photo books?

A. At this time, we only allow the digital sharing of photo books

Q. How do I share a photo book?

A. Find the photo book that you want to share on the in MY PROJECTS, swipe from right to left and tap the Share feature. Note: when sharing a digital photo book, the book is locked and can no longer be modified. If you want to modify the photo book, you can use the “Create a Copy” feature (see the Book Edit section).

Q. Do recipients need the app to view the digital photo book?

A. Of course it will look its best in the Impressed app! However, recipients can choose to view the digital photo book in most web browsers on most modern PCs, Macs, and smartphones.

Q. Someone has shared a photo book with me. How do I print or share it?

A. If you receive a digital copy of a photo book via an email, open the email you received on your iPhone or iPad and tap "View it now". This will open the book in Safari. If you have Impressed installed, you will be offered the opportunity to view the book in the app. If you do not have Impressed installed, you will have the opportunity to download the app first.

Referral

Q. How does the Referral Program work?

A. Every time you refer someone to Impressed and they make a purchase, they will get a $5 referral credit and you will get a $5 referral credit. You can, however, only be referred once to Impressed per person. It’s a great way to print photos for free!

Q. I have not received my referral credits yet. Is something wrong?

A. Whether someone is referring you to Impressed or you are referring someone, you must actually make a purchase to receive referral credits. If you think you still have credits owing, please email us at support@impressedapp.com

Q. How do I take advantage of my referral credits?

A. You can see how many credits you have by looking in the GET FREE PRINTS section, if you have any referral credits you will be able to apply them at checkout under the Gift Card/Credits section.
